Struggling Levante sack coach Muniz

MADRID, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Spanish La Liga strugglers Levante on Sunday sacked coach Juan Ramon Muniz following a 1-1 draw at home to Espanyol.

Muniz guided the Valencia-based side to a return to the Spanish top-flight, but has paid the price for a dreadful run of results, which has seen them now go 14 games without a win and seen the team win once in 21 matches.

Levante looked to be on track for their first win since November 19 on Sunday when Jose Luis Morales' penalty gave them a 56th minute lead, but a 91st minute equalizer from Leo Baptistao punished Levante's nerves in the closing minutes of the game.

The draw leaves Levante just one point above the relegation zone, although they could slip into the bottom three if Las Palmas win away to Celta Vigo on Monday night.  Enditem
