Premature blast kills 4 insurgents in N. Afghanistan

SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Four militants were killed as their explosive device went off prematurely when they were planting a mine on a road in Afghanistan's northern Jawzjan province, army spokesman in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai said Monday.

"The Taliban terrorists were planting a mine on a road in Qurshangor village of Manjagek district Sunday night to target security forces caravan, but the device exploded prematurely killing four on the spot," Rezai told Xinhua.

Taliban militants are yet to make comment on the report. Enditem
