WASHINGTON -- The man who shot himself in front of the White House on Saturday was dead, said local police.

The man, who was not identified yet, was in a large crowd when he fired the gun, the Washington Post reported, citing witnesses. (US-Shooting)

ABUJA -- At least 15 people have been confirmed killed and several others injured following a skirmish in Nigeria's northeastern town of Mambilla, local residents and the police said.

Local police said the violence erupted on Thursday as a result of a misunderstanding between a farmer and a herder in Mambilla, home to Nigeria and west Africa's only highland tea plantations in the northern state of Taraba. (Nigeria-Boko Haram-Violence)

OSLO -- Two people were hit and killed by a train in Norway's capital city Oslo Friday evening, newspaper VG reported Saturday.

The two, 33 and 26 years old, are Polish with legal residence in Norway.

For unknown reasons, the two were walking across the railway tracks along with a third Polish Friday evening when they were run over by a northward train. (Norway-Train Accident)

GAZA -- A Palestinian farmer was killed on Saturday by Israeli troops' gunfire when he approached his farm close to the borderline area between southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis and Israel, medics said.

Mohamed Abu Jame'a, 59, was shot by Israeli troops' gunfire stationed at the borderline area and was critically wounded, the Gaza Health Ministry said in an emailed press statement. (Gaza-Israel-Palestinian) Enditem
