Red Star beat Unicaja 80-76 for slim chance to playoffs

BELGRADE, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Serbian Red Star beat Spanish Unicaja 80-76 on Friday to keep a slim chance of qualifying for the playoffs in the Euroleague.

The match at the Aleksandar Nikolic hall in Belgrade played in front of some 5,000 fans started with an even first quarter by 24-24, with James Feldeine and Taylor Rochestie leading the home team.

Red Star managed a three-point lead at 40-37 before the break, and then extended the lead to 10 after the third quarter, making the victory seem certain.

The Spanish team played a stunning fourth quarter to close it up, creating a tense finish of the match.

Thanks to Rochestie's 21 points and 4 assists, Red Star nailed down a precious victory, while Milko Bjelica (13 points) and James Feldeine (11 points) also gave significant contribution.

Adam Waczynski led the visiting team with 13 points.

Unicaja and Red Star are ranked 10th and 11th respectively with six matches remaining in the regular season. Enditem
