Spain's unemployment figure hits 9-year low

MADRID, March 2 (Xinhua) -- The number of people in Spain who registered as jobless hit a nine-year-low record in February, official date showed on Friday.
The number of people registered as unemployed in Spain fell by 6,280 people since January to 3,470,248 people, according to figures issued by the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
The figure meant a 0.18 percent fall on a month-to-month basis with the total number of jobless being the lowest figure over the last nine years.
Unemployment especially fell in Spain's northeastern region of Catalonia and the archipelago of the Balearic Islands that decreased by 4,685 and 3,338 people respectively. Enditem
