German shares lose 2.27 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, March 2 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 277.23 points, or 2.27 percent, to close at 11,913.71 points.

Commerzbank lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.91 percent, followed by renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical and manufacturing and electronics company Siemens, which both lost 2.15 percent.

German personal-care company Beiersdorf, Deutsche Post and housing association Vonovia were the top three winners, rising 1.05 percent, 0.14 and 0.14 percent respectively.

Siemens was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 535.20 million euros (658.93 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
