MANILA -- At least 102 drug suspects in the Philippines have been killed during the fresh crackdown on illegal drugs, the police said on Friday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao said the deaths were recorded from Dec. 5 last year to March 1 this year.(Philippines-Drug war)

OUAGADOUGOU -- Four attackers were killed in the attack on the French Embassy in Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou, the capital, on Friday, government spokesperson Remis Danjounou said in a statement.

Gunshots and a loud explosion were heard Friday at the headquarters of the army, not far from the central market of Ouagadougou. Shots were also heard near the French Embassy.(Burkina Faso-Attacks)

LONDON -- British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Friday that her country wants "the broadest and deepest possible" trade agreement with the European Union (EU) in a long-awaited Brexit speech.

She told the audience at the City of London's Mansion House that Britain wants the deal to cover "more sectors and co-operating more fully than any Free Trade Agreement anywhere in the world today."(UK-EU-Brexit)

MOGADISHU -- At least three Somali government soldiers were injured in two separate attacks by terror group Al-Shabaab near Somali capital of Mogadishu on Friday.

The police said the three were injured when the militants rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the military base in Afgoye town, about 30 kms south of Mogadishu but were repulsed by the soldiers who were alert.(Somalia-Attacks)

BUNIA, DR Congo -- At least 40 people were killed from Thursday night to Friday in the village of Maze following inter-ethnic conflicts between the Hema and Lendu communities in Ituri province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), according to the security and local sources.

According to the security sources, most of the victims killed were from the Hema ethnic group who were surprised by the Lendu assailants attacking their village late at night.(DRC-Ethnic conflicts-Deaths) Enditem
