2nd LD: Four attackers killed in attack in Burkina Faso capital: official

OUAGADOUGOU, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Four attackers were killed in the attack on the French Embassy in Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou, the capital, on Friday, government spokesperson Remis Danjounou said in a statement.

Gunshots and a loud explosion were heard Friday at the headquarters of the army, not far from the central market of Ouagadougou. Shots were also heard near the French Embassy.

French and Burkinabe anti-terrorist forces have arrived at the spot and the crossfire is still undergoing, witnesses told Xinhua.

The police department of Burkina Faso confirmed earlier that it was a terrorist attack. Enditem
