New Volkswagen Touareg from Slovakia to have premiere in Beijing

BRATISLAVA, March (Xinhua) -- A new model of Volkswagen's (VW) third generation Touareg, which is manufactured at Volkswagen's Bratislava plant, will have its world premiere on March 23 in Beijing, the chairman of the company's board of directors Ralf Sacht announced on Thursday.
The latest addition to Volkswagen Slovakia's product portfolio set out on a three-week journey from Bratislava to the Chinese capital on Thursday.
"The car has been masked, as all its parameters and the design itself will only be introduced in China," said Sacht.
Almost one million Touareg cars have been manufactured at VW Bratislava since 2002.
"The launch of production of Volkswagen's new generation Touareg as well as other SUVs in Bratislava was connected to an investment amounting to 1.9 billion euros (2.32 billion U.S. dollars) and the creation of hundreds of new jobs between 2012-2016," added Sacht. Enditem
