Ukrainian president sets out major tasks for 2018

KIEV, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday named major tasks for his country in 2018, the presidential press service said.

Speaking at a press conference, Poroshenko said that strengthening the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian army is a key priority for the country this year.

Among the other important tasks, he listed eradication of poverty and improvement of people's wellbeing.

To fulfil the tasks, Ukraine will strive to boost economic growth, improve business and investment climate, modernize industrial enterprises and create new jobs, he said. Enditem
