German shares lose 0.44 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 54.88 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 12,435.85 points.
German energy group E.ON lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.30 percent, followed by multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and Deutsche Bank, which lost 1.88 percent and 1.78 percent respectively.
German airlines Lufthansa, marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas were the top three winners, rising 1.21 percent, 1.20 percent and 0.91 percent respectively.
Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 537.97 million euros (657.07 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
