KINSHASA -- Fourteen people were feared dead on Monday night during shipwrecks of two boats on the Congo River in western Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), according to an interim report issued on Wednesday by the Congolese government.

According to the press release of Interior Minister Henry Mova Sakanyi, there are 14 missing (who are feared dead) and 108 survivors. (DR Cong-Shipwrecks)

MADRID -- A man has died while airports, roads and rail links have been affected by the snap of cold weather that hit Spain on Wednesday, placing some 40 provinces on alert.

The Spanish media said a 65-year-old man died after slipping on a snow-covered pavement and hitting his head on the ground in the town of Galdacano, close to Bilbao in the Basque Region of northern Spain. (Spain-Weather)

HELSINKI -- Finnish President Sauli Niinisto has said in a recent interview with Xinhua that he has three major challenges during his second tenure of presidency, namely fighting climate change, regulating migration, and enhancing international security.

Niinisto was re-elected following a landslide victory in the national election in January, and officially took office on Feb. 1. He attributed his popularity to the voters' preference for stability. (Finland-President-Challenges)

MOSCOW -- Russian Soyuz MS-06 spacecraft with three members of the International Space Station (ISS) crew successfully landed in Kazakhstan's steppe on Wednesday, the Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos said.

It said in a statement that Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin and U.S. astronauts Mark Vande Hei and Joseph Acaba were feeling well after spending 168 days in the orbit. (Russia-Spaceflight)

CAIRO -- The death toll of the train crash that took place in Beheira province northern the capital Cairo on Wednesday has risen to 15, official MENA news agency reported.

"The number of victims of Beheira train crash mounted to 15 dead and 40 wounded so far," MENA quoted Transport Ministry's spokesman Mohamed Ezz as saying. (Egypt-Train-Crash)

BRUSSELS -- The eurozone annual inflation in February was estimated to fall to 1.2 percent from previous month's 1.3 percent, its weakest level since December 2016, data from European Union's statistics office Eurostat showed on Wednesday.
