Man arrested after robbing bank of 70,000 HKD in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- A man who had robbed the headquarters of the Bank of East Asia in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Wednesday was arrested, police said.
The robbery happened at around 15:30 local time Wednesday, when the man, holding a pistol-like object, went into the bank on Des Voeux Road in Central, Hong Kong's central business district, the police said.
The incident was captured by the bank's CCTV, showing a staff member being threatened by the robber to put money into a plastic bag. The robber then grabbed the bag and left.
No one was injured in the incident and the bank was reported to have lost 70,000 HK dollars (about 8,974 U.S. dollars). The police launched a manhunt in Central for the robber.
A police official told Xinhua that the suspect, aged 57, was arrested a few hours after the robbery. Enditem
