Singapore stocks close 0.63 pct lower

​SINGAPORE, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed down on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.63 percent, or 22.45 points, to close at 3,517.94.

A total of 2.09 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 2.09 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.58 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 293 to 164.

The STI index closed down 0.43 percent, or 15.46 points, to close at 3,540.39 Tuesday. Enditem
