BRASILIA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's Public Security Minister Raul Jungmann Tuesday fired head of federal police Fernando Segovia who took up the position three months ago.
Segovia's replacement is Rogerio Galloro who was previously the secretary of public security at the Ministry of Justice.
Segovia had been faced controversy during his short time in office. He once had to explain to the Supreme Court why he had made a statement that indicated the federal police might drop corruption investigations into President Michel Temer.
In December, Brazil's former Attorney General Rodrigo Janot told the press that Segovia had been appointed by Temer "to complete a mission, to divert the focus of the investigations." Enditem
