Egypt's Kamel storms Uganda Junior Int'l Badminton Open semi final

KAMPALA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Top seeded Mohamed Mostafa Kamel of Egypt advanced Tuesday into the semi finals by beating Ugandan Denis Onyango 21-6, 21-8 at the Uganda Junior International Badminton Open Championship here.

"I am happy that I have managed to win all my games to get to the semi final stage," the Egyptian said.

He will face a tough task against Uganda's reigning champion and the 2017 Africa Schools champion Brian Kasirye on Wednesday.

Kasirye defeated Kenya's Ujval Omit Shah 21-6, 21-12 in another quarter-final match. Th other semi-final game on Wednesday will see Algeria's Sifeddine Larbaoui battle Kalombo Mulenga of Zambia.

The women's singles semi-finals will see match between top-seed Halla Bouksani of Algeria and Jana Ashraf of Egypt, as well as two other Algerian players, Malak Ouchefoun and Linda Mazri. Enditem
