Singapore stocks close 0.43 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed down on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went down 0.43 percent or 15.46 points to close at 3540.39.

A total of 2.52 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.62 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.23 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 236 to 204.

The STI index closed up 0.64 percent or 22.63 points to close at 3555.85 Monday. Enditem
