DPRK media accuse Japan of spoiling atmosphere for peace on Korean Peninsula

PYONGYANG, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The official media of the Democratic People's Republic Korea (DPRK) have accused Japanese government of "spoiling the atmosphere for peace and driving security uneasiness to the extremes."

In a commentary on Monday, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Tokyo is "displeased with the trend of reconciliation and peace on the Korean Peninsula."

"Because such trend would offer no justification and pretext for them to advance toward militarism so as to turn Japan into a 'country able to conduct a war'," said the KCNA.

The DPRK and South Korea agreed to continue efforts to improve inter-Korean relations and build peace on the Korean Peninsula after the PyeongChang Winter Olympics witnessed a momentum of inter-Korean detente. Enditem
