BELGRADE, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Serbia and Iran should strengthen their relations and engage in a more significant economic cooperation, the foreign ministers of the two countries agreed during their meeting here on Monday.
Serbian foreign minister Ivica Dacic and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif met at the foreign ministry here and talked about the prospects for increasing cooperation in different areas.
Zarif said that the two countries will continue to cooperate in areas of agriculture, construction, energy, health services, tourism and the defense industry.
"I hope that the trend of development of good relations will continue," Zarif told Dacic.
Dacic replied that he is satisfied that a large number of Iranian businessman arrived together with their foreign minister to look for business opportunities. He recalled that since the liberalization of visas last September between the two countries, around 6,000 Iranians came to visit Serbia.
He said the number of visitors from Iran would further grow with direct flight between Belgrade and Teheran to be established next month.
"Traditionally, we have friendly relations with Iran. We wish to deepen these relations and to grow our cooperation in all areas," Dacic said. Enditem
