French shares gain 0.51 pct on Monday

PARIS, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.51 percent, or 26.89 points, to close at 5,344.26 points.

A total of 28 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

French multinational food-products corporation Danone advanced 2.26 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. French hotel group Accor rose 1.35 percent, followed by French luxury goods holding company Kering, which gained 1.15 percent.

The international telecommunication company Bouygues went down by 1.56 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational automotive supplier Valeo lost 1.06 percent. French aeronautic giant Safran edged down 0.44 percent. Enditem
