Saudi embassy dismisses report on Saudis robbed in Jordan

Xinhua,February 26, 2018 Adjust font size:

AMMAN, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's embassy in Amman on Monday rejected as baseless the reports on the robbery of two Saudi citizens in northern Jordan.

Abdul Salam Bin Abdullah Al Enzi, official spokesperson of the embassy, said the embassy did not receive any notification of such an incident.

"Jordan is a safe and secure country thanks to its wise leadership as well as efficiency of its security agencies, which provide full services to Jordanians and non-Jordanians alike in the kingdom," he said.

"Such rumors aimed at sowing sedition and propagating lies and fabricated stories are being disseminated and promoted by parties hostile to both brotherly kingdoms," he added.

The spokesperson pointed out to cooperation between the embassy and the security agencies to solve problems facing Saudis visiting Jordan or those who seek medical treatment or study in Jordan.

Some media reports claimed recently that the two Saudis were robbed while picnicking in the touristy Wadi Al Rayyan region and that the perpetrators were not arrested. Enditem
