BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed higher Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.23 percent, at 3,329.57 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.18 percent higher at 10,895.56 points.

HNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished higher on Monday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange Index up 0.32 point, or 0.09 percent, to close at 341 points.

A total of 3,768 shares worth 20.1 million riel (5,007 U.S. dollars) were traded.

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market has finished higher on Monday, with positive sentiment from overseas markets seeing the index push past the 6000 point barrier.

At the close of trade, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index rose 42.40 points or 0.71 percent at 6,042.20, while the broader All Ordinaries index lifted 40.90 points or 0.67 percent at 6,146.10.

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks ended higher Monday, with the benchmark Nikkei stock index closing at a three-week high as investor sentiment was brightened by Wall Street's lead and triggered buybacks here.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 260.85 points, or 1.19 percent, from Friday to close the day at 22,153.63, marking its highest closing level since Feb. 5.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended higher Monday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 6.13 points, or 0.25 percent, to settle at 2,457.65. Trading volume stood at 312.79 million shares worth 5.24 trillion won (4.88 billion U.S. dollars).

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.38 percent higher on Monday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 32.42 points to 8499.98. The all-share index went up by 2.82 points, or 0.06 percent, to 5066.38.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 1,114.53 points on Monday, up 11.68 points, or 1.06 percent, against the last Friday's closing session.

About 234.110 million shares worth 7.416 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (330.37 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 112 stocks went up, 186 stocks fell down, while 42 stocks remained unchanged.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 231.43 points, or 0.74 percent, to 31,498.598 points on Monday.
