Singapore stocks close 0.64 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed up on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.64 percent or 22.63 points to close at 3,555.85.

A total of 1.67 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.32 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.00 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 263 to 216.

The STI index closed up 1.28 percent or 44.76 points to close at 3,533.22 last Friday. Enditem
