JAKARTA -- Landslides and floods striking Central Java province of western Indonesia have left 16 people dead and 20 injured, disaster agency said on Saturday.
The natural disasters have taken place in the districts of Brebes and Purbalingga since days ago, spokesman of national disaster management agency Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said. (Indonesia-Landslides)

NEW DELHI -- Top militant commander belonging to Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) was killed Saturday in a gunfight with government forces in India's northeastern state of Meghalaya, officials said.
The slain militant identified as Sohan D Shira was killed at Dobu Agalgre of East Garo Hills district, about 203 km west of Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. (India-Gunfight)

NEW DELHI -- At least nine students were killed and two dozen others injured Saturday after an over-speeding vehicle ran into students and knocked them down in India's eastern state of Bihar, police said.

YANGON -- Bilateral trade between Myanmar and China hit 8.5 billion U.S. dollars as of December 2017 in present fiscal year 2017-2018, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Saturday.
