YANGON -- Myanmar government pledged on Friday to take serious action against Wednesday's bomb attack by some unknown group near private Yoma bank and AYA bank in Lashio, Shan state, according to a statement from the National Reconciliation and Peace Center, chaired by State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi.
The state counselor condemned such bomb blast attacking the public areas and hurting innocent civilians, the statement said. (Myanmar-Action)

DAR ES SALAAM -- Tanzanian president John Magufuli and his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday directed their ministers to resolve disputes affecting trade between the two East African countries.
A statement by the Directorate of Presidential Communication at State House in Dar es Salaam said the two leaders directed the ministers to resolve the trade dispute in the Ugandan capital Kampala shortly before the start of the East African Community (EAC) heads of state summit. (Tanzania-Trade)
