NEW DELHI, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 people were injured in a massive fire that broke out at a chemical factory in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad Friday, officials said.

"The blaze started at the factory in Jeedimetla Industrial Area this morning. While 10 workers sustained injuries and have been rushed to a nearby hospital after being rescued, four others are still said to be trapped inside the factory," a police official said.

Some nine fire tenders have been pressed into service to contain the raging fire, a fire official said. "Efforts are on to bring out the trapped factory workers," he said.

Local TV channels showed footage of firefighters struggling to contain the raging fire at the chemical factory since this morning.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, he added.

Last month, a fire at a firecracker factory in the Indian capital claimed the lives of 17 people. Enditem
