French shares gain 0.13 pct on Thursday

PARIS, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.13 percent, or 7.06 points, to close at 5,309.23 points.

A total of 23 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

TechnipFMC, a UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services for the energy industry advanced 3.91 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips.

French transnational company Veolia Environment gained 2.12 percent. French multinational company Air Liquide which supplies industrial gases and services rose 1.08 percent.

French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics was down 2 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French tire manufacturer Michelin lost 1.33 percent. European IT services corporation Atos lost 1.09 percent. Enditem
