JAKARTA -- Landslides struck Brebes district of Central Java province in western Indonesia on Thursday, leaving 11 people missing and 14 others wounded, a government official said.

The disaster took place in Pasir Panjang village when the victims were working in their farmland near a hill, spokesman of natural disaster management agency Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said. (Indonesia-Landslides)

SYDNEY -- Sydney's International Airport announced on Thursday that they will be trialling groundbreaking facial recognition scanners.

SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has notified South Korea of its plan to send a high-ranking delegation to the closing ceremony of the 23rd Winter Olympics, Seoul's unification ministry said Thursday.

The ranking DPRK delegation, led by Kim Yong Chol, a senior official of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, will make a three-day visit to South Korea beginning Sunday when the closing ceremony is held in South Korea's eastern county of PyeongChang. (S.Korea-DPRK)

SYDNEY -- An Australian-led team of researchers have successfully developed a rotavirus vaccine that could have the potential to protect millions of newborn babies around the world.

Known as RV3-BB, the rotavirus vaccine was developed by the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and trialed on 1,649 newborn babies at 25 health centers and hospitals in District Klaten, Central Java and District Sleman, Yogyakarta in Indonesia. (Australia-Rotavirus Vaccine) Enditem
