Spanish shares drop 0.73 pct Wednesday

MADRID, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 0.73 percent or 72 points, to 9,823.30 points.

A total of 27 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Spain's energy company Iberdrola fell 4.10 percent, being the top loser of the day. Infrastructure company Acciona lost 2.13 percent and infrastructure company ACS went down 1.82 percent.

Hotel chain Melia Hotels advanced 2.64 percent, being the top gainer of the day. Spain's fourth largest bank Bankia was up 1.20 percent and gas natural infrastructure company Enagas rose 0.83 percent. Enditem
