PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Norwegians Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo bagged the cross-country skiing men's team sprint free gold medal at PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games here on Wednesday.

The Norwegian pair posted a match-best time of 15 minutes and 56.26 seconds. Norway has won six gold medals in cross-country skiing at PyeongChang 2018, breaking the record for the most in this sport at a single Winter Olympic Games.

21-year-old Klaebo became the fourth male athlete to win a third gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games before turning 22, also the first Norwegian man to win three gold medals at a single Winter Olympic Games since biathlete Ole Einar Bjoerndalen won four at Salt Lake City 2002.

"It is an incredible feeling to finish first here. Both of us have been very nervous today and I did not sleep good today also," said Klaebo.

Russia's Denis Spitsov and Alexander Bolshunov finished 1.71 seconds behind on second place.

The bronze medal went to Frenchmen Maurice Manificat and Richard Jouve in 15:58.28. Enditem
