MOSCOW, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said Wednesday that it had detained two Russian citizens in the Moscow region who are suspected members of an organized criminal group that has produced narcotic drugs in large volumes and sold them through the Internet.

The FSB said in a statement that in a search operation, more than 37 kg of synthetic narcotic drugs, 1,335 liters of a liquid containing narcotic drugs, and various laboratory equipment, chemicals and precursors were found.

The members of the group used means of conspiracy to transmit drugs, laboratory equipment and precursors exclusively through caches, according to the statement.

The activities of the group were coordinated exclusively through the Internet, it added.

The FSB initiated a criminal case against the suspects on the grounds of producing and distributing narcotic drugs on a large scale. Under Russian legislation, such a crime is punishable with 10-15 years in prison. Enditem
