Xinhua,February 21, 2018 Adjust font size:

RABAT, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Morocco busted on Wednesday a terror cell with suspected links to the Islamic State (IS) group, the Moroccan Interior ministry said.

The six-member cell, which was operating in the northern city of Tangier, was led by an ex-convict in a terrorism case, the ministry said in a statement.

The initial investigations revealed that the cell was involved in assaults in Tangier, using knives, sticks and hoods.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 42, have links to another terrorist cell dismantled in Tangier and Meknes on Feb. 1. Enditem
