1st LD: Suicide attack kills 3 Libyan army soldiers

TRIPOLI, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Three soldiers of the Libyan eastern-based army were killed on Wednesday in a suicide attack on a military checkpoint in the city of Jufra, 650 km southeast of the capital Tripoli, according to military and medical sources.

"According to preliminary information, a suicide bomber driving a car attacked a military checkpoint at the western entrance of Jufra," an official of the army's operations chamber of Jufra told Xinhua.

The attack occurred at 9:20 a.m. local time (0720 GMT), the military source said on condition of anonymity, adding that the explosion destroyed the checkpoint comnpletely, including a number of vehicles. Enditem
