LOS ANGELES -- SpaceX plans to launch its first demonstration satellite Wednesday for its internet-in-space project. It plans eventually to have thousands of small satellites delivering broadband access around the world.
SpaceX is slated to launch a rocket from a pad at California's Vandenberg Air Force Base at 6:17 a.m. local time on Wednesday. The launch's primary mission is to deliver an observational satellite, called PAZ, for the Spanish government. (US-Space)

UNITED NATIONS -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday questioned what he called the White House's "strange" policies on the Middle East.
"We met with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, four times in 2017 and we have expressed our absolute readiness to reach a historic peace agreement. We repeatedly reaffirmed our position in accordance with international law, the relevant UN resolutions and the two-state solution on the basis of the 1967 borders," Abbas said in a speech to the Security Council. NEW YORK -- The U.S. dollar rose against other major currencies on Tuesday as investors were awaiting the large U.S. government debt auctions this week.
With no major data coming out, the market is focused on the supply of over 250-billion-U.S.-dollar worth of new debt by the U.S. Treasury this week, which will kick off on Tuesday when 179-billion-U.S.-dollar in Treasury bills and two-year notes will be auctioned. (US-Dollar-Forex)

KAMPALA -- Uganda's President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup trophy on March 5th.
Uganda will be among the privileged 10 African countries that will host the coveted trophy. Simon Kaheru, the Coca Cola Uganda Public Relations manager told Xinhua on Tuesday that the trophy will arrive on March 5th from Cape Town, South Africa and on the same day be hosted by the President in Entebbe. ROME -- American pianist and composer Keith Jarrett will be awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the next International Festival of Contemporary Music in Venice.
