British stocks down slightly Tuesday

LONDON, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 0.89 points or 0.01 percent at 7,246.77 points.

Evraz, an international steel and mining company, soared 5.02 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. DS Smith and Standard Life Aberdeen rose by 2.74 percent and 2.39 percent, respectively.

BHP Billiton, an international mining group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.58 percent. HSBC Holdings, a multinational banking and financial services holding company, dropped 3.09 percent. International Consolidated Airlines Group dropped 2.75 percent. Enditem
