German shares gain 0.83 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 102.30 points, or 0.83 percent, to close at 12,487.90 points.

German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.04 percent. Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and energy group RWE rose by 1.76 percent and 1.66 percent respectively.

Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.32 percent. Tire specialist Continental and European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 down by 0.92 percent and 0.82 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 286.52 million euros (353.56 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
