RIGA -- Bank of Latvia Governor Ilmars Rimsevics, who was detained last weekend in connection with a bribery probe launched by the Baltic country's anti-corruption authority, was released on 100,000 euros (124,000 U.S. dollars) bail on Monday evening, the Latvian Corruption Prevention Bureau informed.
A video footage at Latvian news portal Delfi also showed Rimsevics dismissed the allegations as he was released. "I disagree with it absolutely," Rimsevics told reporters. (Latvia-Central Bank Head)

BERLIN -- Germany will significantly increase the number of its armed forces personnel participating in NATO exercises on the military alliance's so-called "Eastern frontier", German media reported on Monday.

JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- At least three people were killed and two others injured as a bomb blast rocked Jalalabad city, the capital of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday, spokesman for provincial government Attaullah Khogiani said.

NEW DELHI -- India Tuesday test-fired its medium-range, nuclear-capable Agni II missile from a military island off the coast of eastern state of Odisha, sources said.
"The home-made, surface-to-surface missile was test-fired this morning from the Integrated Test Range in Odisha's Balasore district as part of Indian Army's training exercise," sources said. (India-Missile Test)

TEHRAN -- Iran has located the wreckage of a passenger plane that crashed into western mountains on Sunday, official IRNA news agency reported Tuesday.
