Mountain fire put out in SW China's Yunnan

KUNMING, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- A fire in a mountainous region north of Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, has been extinguished, local authorities said Tuesday.

The fire spread across more than 10 hectares of forest. There were no casualties, according to firefighters.

The fire broke out Monday afternoon on Changchong Mountain, about 20 km from Kunming city proper. More than 950 firefighters were dispatched to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Enditem
