BAGHDAD -- Up to 27 members of paramilitary Hashd Shaabi fighters were killed in an ambush by Islamic State (IS) militants near the town of Hawijah in Kirkuk province, a Hashd Shaabi statement said on Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday night when a force of Hashd Shaabi force were ambushed by a terrorist militants disguised in military uniforms in Hawijah area, in the southwestern part of the oil-rich Kirkuk province, the statement said. (Iraq-IS)

ADEN, Yemen -- A total of 23 militants of the Yemen-based al-Qaida branch were killed in armed confrontations with Yemeni government forces supported by the Saudi-led coalition in the southeastern province of Hadramout on Sunday.
The 2nd Regional Military Command based in Hadramout declared in a press statement obtained by Xinhua that "the anti-terror military operation against al-Qaida-held locations in Hadramout's Valley ended successfully." (Yemen-Al-Qaida)

CAIRO -- An Egyptian army officer and two soldiers were killed during a shootout with terrorists in Egypt's North and Central Sinai, the Egyptian army said on Monday.

TEHRAN -- Three security policemen were killed and some others were injured in the clash with the "Deravish" sect in Iranian capital Tehran on Monday, semi-official Fars news agency reported.
The incident happened as the "mad bus" belonging to the "Deravish" raided police station in Tehran's Pasdaran street and hit the policemen. (Iran-Deravish) Enditem
