PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Olympic two-man bobsled final ended in a dramatic way on Monday as Canada and Germany clocked the same time to share the gold.

Chinese bobsledders have gained valuable experience in their Olympic debut which is set to help them prepare for the Beijing Games four years later.

The German pair of Francesco Friedrich and Thorsten Margis clocked 3 minutes and 16.86 seconds, before Canada's Justin Kripps and Alexander Kopacz kicked off their final heat.

As the screen showed that Kripps and Kopacz finished with the same winning time, Friedrich and Margis walked to the finish line and hugged their Canadian counterparts.

Oskars Melbardis and Janis Strenga of Latvia were 0.05 seconds behind for the bronze medals.

China's Li Chunjian and Wang Sidong were 26th after three heats. Their teammates Jin Jian and Shi Hao finished 29th among the 30 participating pairs.

The Chinese had to bid early farewell as the top 20 pairs qualified for the final heat.

"I feel quite excited about my Olympic debut, while not feeling too much pressure," said Wang, adding that the Chinese athletes need to move forward step by step.

"This is our first step towards the Beijing Winter Olympics. We hope that we can catch the world's attention in the future," commented Li. Enditem
