China's first Atlantis resort opens in Sanya

SANYA, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Atlantis Sanya, the first Atlantis resort in China, opened at Haitang Bay in south China's island province of Hainan during the Spring Festival.

The resort, an integrated entertainment destination covering an area of 540,000 square meters, is owned by Fosun Group and managed by Kerzner International.

It features underwater suites and a variety of ocean-themed activities such as water slides, interaction with dolphins and other marine mammals, and appreciation of about 86,000 marine species.

"The growth potential of Sanya and the entire island of Hainan is tremendous, and we believe that the number of visitors, our perfect location in Haitang Bay, and warm weather are the key reasons to launch this first Atlantis resort in Sanya," said managing director Heiko Schreiner. Enditem
