TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- An Iranian passenger plane with 66 people on board crashed on Sunday morning, Press TV reported.

The ATR turboprop aircraft belonging to Iran Aseman Airlines took off from the capital Tehran at 05:00 a.m. (0130 GMT), heading to central Yasuj city, but crashed near Semirom into the Zagros mountains.

The plane crashed only 185.2 kilometers before reaching Yasuj, said Pir-Hossein Koulivand, the head of Iran's Emergency Medical Services. Enditem
