BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Austrian Dominic Thiem advanced to the Argentina Open final with a straight sets victory over France's Gael Monfils here on Saturday.

The 24-year-old top seed needed just 62 minutes to beat Monfils 6-2, 6-1 and set up a final against Slovenia's Alijaz Bedene at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis club on Sunday.

Thiem did not drop a service game all match, helped by a first-serve winning percentage of more than 85%.

Earlier, Bedene outclassed Argentine Federico Delbonis 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 to book his place in the final of ATP World Tour 250 clay court event.

"I played really well in the first set but I dropped a little bit in the second," Bedene told the ATP's official website.

"I'm happy I managed to come through in the third. I'm serving pretty well. Not everything depends on my serve, but it helps." Enditem
