BEIRUT -- A Lebanese security source said Saturday that a Syrian citizen was killed and another one injured during a shooting incident at dawn on the Lebanese-Syrian northern border.

The source said that the body of the killed Syrian was found on the Syrian side of the river separating the two countries. (Lebanon-Syria-Shooting)

ADEN -- A U.S. drone strike targeting a car killed three members of the Yemen-based al-Qaida branch, including a leader in the central province of al-Bayda on Saturday, a military official told Xinhua.

The military source said that the unmanned U.S. aircraft fired its missiles on a small pick-up truck of al-Qaida in al-Bayda province, leaving three terrorists killed, including a local leader of the group. (Yemen-US-Drone Strike)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian government intends to restrict rice planting in areas where underground water is at alarming levels, Financial Tribune daily reported Saturday.

TRIPOLI, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Libya's UN-backed Prime Minister Fayez Serraj on Saturday called for an end to the Libya political stalemate by issuing the referendum law on the draft constitution.

GAZA -- Israeli war jets struck Hamas military facilities in the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening in response to an earlier roadside bombing targeting an Israeli army vehicle, local sources said.
