PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Three Chinese skiers cruised into the final of freestyle skiing men's aerials of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics at Phoenix Snow Park here on Saturday.
Qi Guangpu earned 126.70 points to take the second place in the first-round qualification, followed by Jia Zongyang who marked 126.55, as they both directly entered the final to be held on Sunday.
"I think 25 participants all did a great work tonight. I have nothing to lose, so I will just relax in the final and enjoy my show at the Olympics," said Qi, placed fourth at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
Liu Zhongqing made a successful second run with 123.08 points to book a berth in the final, while Wang Xindi was eliminated with the best score of 121.24 after two runs of qualification. American Jonathon Lillis scored 127.44 to lead the 12 final skiers, and 2017 world champion Stanislau Hladchenko of Belarus was placed fourth with 126.11.
China has claimed three Olympic medals in this event, as Han Xiaopeng made history in 2006 Turin Olympics by winning the gold medal, which is China's first Olympic gold in skiing events as well as the country's first Winter Olympic title claimed by male athletes. Enditem
