ANKARA -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Friday that Turkey and the U.S. agreed to normalize their ties, after weeks of rising tensions due to Turkey's military operation in Syria.

Speaking at a joint press conference with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Cavusoglu said the two sides will set up mechanisms to address the issues that have strained the bilateral relations. (Turkey-U.S.-Normalization)

TRIPOLI -- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced Thursday that it had evacuated more than 1,000 refugees from Libya over the past three months.

"Since November, UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, has evacuated over 1,000 highly vulnerable refugees out of Libya and is looking for durable solutions for them in third countries," the UNHCR mission in Libya said in a statement. (Libya-UN-Refugee Evacuation)

RAMALLAH -- A total of 40 Palestinian demonstrators were wounded in clashes with Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on Friday afternoon, local sources said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesman of Gaza Health Ministry, told reporters that 23 Palestinians were shot and wounded during clashes on the borders between eastern Gaza and Israel. (Palestinians-Israel-Clashes)

BEIRUT -- Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Friday called on the Lebanese to unite to defend the country's maritime rights against Israel.

"In the case of the struggle with Israel in what is the land and maritime border and Lebanon's Exclusive Economic Zone, the battle that Israel has launched against Lebanon's rights is one of the titles of this war," Nasrallah said in a televised speech during a ceremony honoring the party's former leaders.
