NEW DELHI -- India will launch its second lunar mission in April this year, the country's Space Minister Jitendra Singh said Friday.

"India is going to launch Chandrayaan-2 in April. It is under Chandrayaan-1 mission that the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) spotted water on the moon. Chandrayaan-2 is a further extension of the project and it is as good as landing a man on the moon," Singh told the media. (India-Lunar Mission)

OSAKA, Japan -- A three-day celebration for the Chinese Spring Festival kicked off in Osaka in western Japan on Friday, the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Since early in the morning, Tennoji Park in downtown Osaka, where the celebration was held, was filled with festival atmosphere with red lanterns and flags hung high. (Japan-Spring Festival)

YANGON -- Celebrations of the Spring Festival or Chinese Lunar New Year grandly kicked off in Chinatown of Myanmar's Yangon on Friday, the first day of Chinese calendar year of the Dog.
