BEIJING, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) has asked food safety offices at all levels to increase the frequency and scope of food testing during the Spring Festival holiday.

Food providers in school canteens, nursing homes, restaurant chains, tourist destinations and others should be closely watched, said the CFDA.

The administration asked offices to step up inspection on use of antibiotics, chemical compounds and veterinary drugs in animal products.

The Spring Festival holiday characterized by family gatherings, feasts and performances lasts from Feb. 15 to 21. Enditem
