Tunisia's growth up to nearly 2 pct in 2017

TUNIS, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia recorded a growth of 1.9 percent over the whole year of 2017, compared to 1 percent in 2016, announced on Thursday the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

According to the INS, with about 639,000 jobless until the fourth quarter of 2017, the unemployment rate is about 15.5 percent among the active population.

The unemployment rate is 12.5 percent for men and 22.9 percent for women.

For the higher education graduates, the unemployment rate dropped relatively to 29.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017, compared to 30.6 percent in the third quarter of the same year. Enditem
