French shares gain 1.11 pct Thursday

PARIS, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- French shares rose on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 1.11 percent, or 57.26 points, to close at 5,222.52 points.

Twenty-nine of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

European multinational aerospace and defense corporation Airbus Group advanced 10.28 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips.

Schneider electric, French multinational corporation specializing in energy management and automation solutions, rose 3.41 percent, followed by French retail giant Carrefour, who gained 3.19 percent.

French water and waste group Veolia Environment went down by 1.50 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Commercial property investor Unibail-Rodamco lost 0.93 percent. French tire manufacturer Michelin edged down 0.89 percent. Enditem
